Poets of G+ Prompt of the Week: 5/12/13
A Moment to Breathe
Gone before he wakes each morning,
she enters softly with the twilight
to come and tuck him in.
Evidence of how hard she pushes
to pay the bills,
to feed them all,
to keep a roof firmly overhead
shows in deep lines on her face
and calluses on both her hands.
Still, her eyes shine
as she gazes upon her little boy
so sweet as he sleeps,
recognizing he’s the reason
she breathes between sunsets.
The prompt: write a poem that contains the phrase "breathes between sunsets".
