In this age of chasing nickels around dollar bills,
opinions are ten a penny.
The intentionally ignorant, not realizing
speech is silver but silence is golden,
spew rhetoric that is often not the full shilling
or, at best, a day late and a dollar short.
Keep in mind most political conversation
is not worth a plugged nickel
to anyone not of like mind
and you can bet your bottom dollar
that most are not in for a penny in for a pound
and will turn on a dime if it benefits them.
Dollars to doughnuts,
this great ideological divide
is sure to cost us all a pretty penny.
